Family patterns are difficult to navigate in normal circumstances. In COVID-19 times, with stress levels and anxieties running high, they are magnified. Stress levels and anxieties elevate when we find ourselves in scary and uncertain situations that we cannot control. Our sense of safety is gone out the window. We are on edge. Quit making excuses. Just do it. sigh There are “motivational” quotes like this one, all over my gym. It's like a drill sergeant yelling at me to QUIT IT! GET UP, and CHANGE IT! Why not take a gentler approach when encouraging women to work out?
Part of being human is having the courage to be vulnerable. When you decide to be vulnerable and speak your truth, you also open yourself up to judgment from others. So should you be afraid of other people's judgment? No, because they ain't got nothing on the judgment and shame you've already put on yourself!
